Tall case brass dial clock, 1766.

Cherry tall-case clock. The hood has a molded arch pediment with three cast finials on fluted plinths, pierced fretwork, arched sidelights, free-standing fluted columns with brass capitals and bases at the front corners, and a glazed door with an astragal top. Waist with cove and ogee moldings at the top and a rectangular case door. Base with cove and ovolo moldings at the top, and supported on straight bracket feet. Composite brass dial with applied chapter ring with roman hour numerals and arabic minute numerals, applied cast ornament in the spandrels and lunette, applied roundel in the lunette with an engraved eagle and the motto "tempus Fugit." Inside the chapter ring there is an applied seconds dial, a calendar aperture and a name plate engraved "Danl Balch Newbury." Eight day movement.
